Click on the menu display below to "interact" with
the GIS Automated Watershed Storm Water Management Model designed
by R.K.R. Hess Associates in conjunction with Environmental
Systems Research Institute (ESRI). The model was developed to
calculate parameters required by hydrologic models to determine
storm water runoff flows and nonpoint source pollution
contributions of a watershed. This model allows the user to pick
on any point in the watershed from which the model will delineate
a watershed boundary based on elevation information available
from an underlying Digital Elevation Model (DEM). The model is
capable of generating time of concentration lines, SCS Curve
Numbers, and channel parameters such as depth, width and
roughness coefficients. The model was designed so that planners
can interactively determine the hydrologic and pollution effects
that development might have on a watershed. (Please note that
options which are shaded are not available in this demo.)
